Mini boots haul!

Hey girls!
Today I wasn't in the best of moods so I thought I'd indulge in a bit of retail therapy. I didn't get a great deal, but I picked up a couple of beauty blogger favourites and I thought I'd give my humble opinion on them!

Pink Cloud - Swatched

In the pan
The first thing I picked up was a natural collection blush in the colour 'Pink Cloud' which is a very like sort of pastel/baby pink (Perfect for spring/summer) I've heard loads about the Natural Collection blushes and I thought I'd give them a whirl; for £1.99 you can't really go wrong. And I was pleasantly surprised, the pigmentation is pretty nice albeit a little bit chalky - but for £1.99 I expected much less.

I also picked up something that has been all of the beauty blogging scene lately, the great Revlon Lip Butter V L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks debate. And I stood umming and ahing over which to go for in the Boots aisle for a good 5 minutes trying to decide. But I came to the conclusion of going down the L'Oreal route, because I've read quite a few reviews on them and it seemed as if they were slightly more pigmented plus I adore the packaging, is that a bit silly? Haha. I don't mind! I only got one, because I wanted to try it out before I commited to a load of them. So I got the shade cheeky magenta, which I utterly adore!

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Cheeky Magenta - Swatched

Really lightly applied
Colour built up

I really love the way this looks on the lips, as it's so buildable so it could be subtle or quite a statement. It feels so comfortable and balmy on your lips, but not slippery. LOVE! They're priced as £7.99 from Boots definitely worth checking out I'm going to purchasing some different shades as soon as I can!

I've always been a massive Bourjois fan, and as a lover of the Healthy Mix Foundation I thought I'd try out the 'serum' formula, I might do a seperate blog post on this if anyone is interested. I got the shade 53, which is a teeensy bit dark for me but as we're going into the warmer months I thought I could pull it off. I paid £10.99 at boots for it.

Healthy Mix serum blended out

I have also been seeing lots of the new L'Oreal 'Lumi Magique' Range, And as a lover of shimmery things I was keen to check it out! I picked up their new primer on a two L'Oreal products for £14 along with one of the Rouge Caress lipsticks. I've been on the market for a new face primer for a while, and I loved that this one doubles as a highlight.

A (pretty massive) blob of the product
Looooooook shimmery!

18th birthday haul!

As some of you who read my last post 'AN UPDATE' will know, I turned 18 on the 19th of April. I had a truly    lovely day, and I was utterly utterly spoilt. During the day I got up with my family quite early as I went to college, opened some cards and my beautiful ring and everyone else went off to work. I had a pretty average day at college, got fussed over a lot and we went to McDonalds for lunch which was lush! In the evening a coach load of my friends all came to my house for pre-drinks and cake and then we all went off in the coach to Brighton clubbing. It was an unreal day and night and it was so lovely to be able to use my own ID!  These are not all the presents I got, I got some other lovely things and money from family and things. These are just a little selection. I am not making this to brag, I just wanted to share with everyone what I got for my birthday!

All my presents together :)
My aaaamazing make-up themed birthday cake! It was soooo delicious :)
My friends and family know me so well, well enough to get me a load of benefit makeup. I love the range of products that benefit gives, and I think the names of products and packaging is diviineeeee.

Flirt alert swatched

Skinny dip swatched
I got two new benefit lipsticks, I've never actually tried their lipsticks before but I've worn them both non-stop since my birthday; the formulation is so creamy and they just glide onto the lips. They last a good couple of hours. I got the colour 'Flirt Alert' which is a vibrant, true pillar box red and 'Skinny Dip' Which is a lipstick from their 'Silky finish' range, so it's super moisturising and feels quite balmy and glossy on the lips. It looks gorgeous, and is definitely a nudey, dark pink 'my lips but better' shade, great for everyday.
I was also lucky enough to get two benefit mascaras; 'they're real' and 'BAD gal lash' both of which I've had before, But if you ask me you can never have too many mascaras. Especially amazing Benefit ones like these.

AN UPDATE.

Hello Bloggerverse!
I know, I am a terrible terrible blogger. I still have yet to make a substantial and interesting post, so that is why I am calling on you. Be it may that I am too lazy to think of my own ideas, or I am lacking in inspiration I am writing a pathetic sorry for not blogging blog. ANYWHO. As everyone hates completely text posts, I thought I'd insert a couple of random pictures of lately. I very recently dyed my hair, from bleach blonde to reddish brown. I'm still not sure how I feel about it yet, but as a natural brunette the roots were murderous and on a student budget not very realistic.
New hair.

I'm not totally convinced, but it's only hair! It was my 18th birthday on the 19th of April, I had the most perfect weekend afterwards and such a lovely day; I was absolutely spoilt rotten and got suitably pissed to celebrate 4 days in a row! But I've been thinking of doing a 'Birthday haul' type post, but I'm not sure if that seems like I'm just showing off? Let me know.

I promise to post sooner this time...maybe.

My first IMATS experience (2012)

Me and my beautiful mumma :)
As someone who is somewhat of a new comer to the make-up world, I had wanted to go to IMATS last year but this was the first year that I've been. I had a truly brilliant time; if you haven't been before I would thoroughly recommend it but there are a few things I wish I'd known before I had gone. So for anyone thinking of going for the first time I thought this might be helpful for some tips :)

  • Take Cash with you! - When I went I was carrying cash luckily, and I think a few of the stalls do have card machines but most don't.
  • If you are planning on buying make-up there, for your kit or personal use. Buy the expensive stuff! Don't go to IMATS and get the trade show prices on stuff that you could easily get at any time, I personally made a beeline for the Makeup Forever, Illamasqua and Inglot stalls!
  • Wear comfortable shoes - You're going to be walking around all day, and although those heels might seem a good idea at the time, trust me you will be regretting them when you're climbing up the hill to Ally Pally!
  • Go and watch the speakers - Personally, that was a total highlight for me watching the speakers, I felt like a learnt so much and they were incredibly interesting
Hope this was helpful, I'd love to hear about any other tips if you have any, and I hope to see some of you next year :)

Hello bloggerverse!

I am very new to the Blogger scene, so be gentle with me please! This is my first post, so obviously it's going to be incredibly boring and no-one is going to read it. But I've wanted to start blogging for a while now, So I may as well introduce myself. I'm Daisy, I'm 18 and I live in the UK. I am utterly obsessed by all things beauty related, and will be posting honest reviews of new products that I like, or that I don't.
 Lots of Love, Daisy xx
